What are dentures?

Dentures are a solution for replacing missing teeth to restore your smile. They are a removable appliance that can be temporarily sealed along the gums to give the appearance and function of real teeth.

Are Dentures for me?

If you have lost all of your tooth from gum disease, injury, or tooth decay, dentures can be a non-surgical option to improve daily life.

Eating and speaking without teeth can present a challenge. Dentures restore some of the functions that, until one loses teeth, are taken for granted.

Also, by supporting facial muscles that begin to sag without the presence of teeth, dentures will fill out your profile, and improve your smile.

Types of dentures:

Conventional – This is a removable denture that is custom made to fit, and placed in your mouth once any remaining teeth are removed, and after the gums have healed.

Immediate – This denture is also removable, but it is inserted on the same day that any remaining teeth are extracted. Measurements of your jaw will be made during a preliminary visit, after which a model will be made. During the healing period, you will be able to wear the dentures, but they might need to be relined or remade after your jaw has healed.

Overdenture – In cases, existing teeth can be saved to preserve your jawbone and provide support for the denture. An overdenture fits over the remaining natural teeth.
